Severide continued to navigate uncharted territory as Firehouse 51’s Chief in Season 15’s “Rattle the Cage” after getting a warning about his arrangement with Stella. While inner-firehouse relationships are typically discouraged, Stellaride have long worked out an unspoken agreement with the CFD and its Chiefs regarding their working relationship as Lieutenants commanding separate trucks. Now, Stella works under Severide, and while he’s used to giving his wife the world, their workplace dynamics are being tested as all eyes are on them.

Meanwhile, Paramedic In Charge Violet Mikami (Hanako Greensmith) has been reconnecting with a high school peer, nowadays a local reporter who has reached out to Firehouse 51 on a few occasions for leads on his next breaking story. Season 15’s recruits also struggled to be careful during a call, notably cocky 51 newcomer Markus Burke, who has been clashing with Sal Vasquez (Brandon Larracuente). Tensions came to a boiling point, with the firefighters coming to blows.

Chicago Fire’s Season 15 premiere was in no shortage of action as Firehouse 51 dealt with the fallout of a disastrous warehouse fire that went south during the Season 14 finale three months back. The Firehouse 51 medics and firefighters are navigating a chapter of change as the newly promoted Kelly Severide (Taylor Kinney) assumes command as 51’s new Chief. Fortunately, 51’s former Chief, Dom Pascal (Dermot Mulroney), returned to the Windy City to give Severide a much-needed reality check on his new mountain of responsibilities.

Meanwhile, a new lineup of recruits is settling in at the station as they work toward finding permanent positions in the CFD under the leadership of their training officer, Lt. Stella Kidd (Miranda Rae Mayo). On a more somber note, 51 fan favorite Joe Cruz (Joe Miñoso) remains paralyzed after the warehouse fire incident, getting grim news about his ability to walk again. Cruz feels shaky about his future as a firefighter, but he’s surrounded by the support of his entire Firehouse 51 family.
