First 10 Minutes of ‘NCIS: Tony & Ziva’ Episode 1 Put Michael Weatherly and Cote de Pablo Back on the Case
NCIS: Tony & Ziva fans at San Diego Comic Con not only got the chance to see a fresh new trailer for the upcoming NCIS spin-off, premiering on Paramount+ September 4, but they also got a chance to see the first ten minutes of the very first episode “No Country Is Safe.” Collider’s Meredith Loftus was in attendance for the presentation, which included a panel with leads Cote de Pablo and Michael Weatherly, as well as showrunner John McNamara. It was moderated by NCIS’ Brian Dietzen.

‘NCIS: Tony & Ziva’ Says Series’ “Name Drops” Set Up Crossover Potential
In a franchise as long-running and storied as NCIS, crossovers are basically how the series has expanded. The mothership series, in and of itself, is a spin-off from JAG and now NCIS: Tony & Ziva is the sixth spin-off launching in the franchise. While we’ve seen from early trailer that there is at least a mention of Tony and Ziva’s old friend Timothy McGee (Sean Murray), it’s not been revealed if fans will see anyone else from the other NCIS shows. When asked at San Diego Comic Con about the potential, McNamara enthusiastically replied, “absolutely! It’s going to make them seem more realistic. There are name drops that come up. To me, I felt like we were setting the spike for that.“
Fans can find out just where that leads on September 4. NCIS: Tony & Ziva premieres on Paramount+. Stay with Collider for the latest updates.
