While filming his finale episode, the longtime One Chicago star paid tribute in an emotional behind-the-scenes video.

Chicago P.D.’s LaRoyce Hawkins just honored his onscreen flame, Karen Obilom, in the sweetest way.

The second episode of Chicago P.D. Season 14 (“Don’t Blink”) featured the farewell of Officer Kevin Atwater (Hawkins), who officially left the Intelligence Unit after 14 years of service. Atwater said goodbye to his team during his farewell party, revealing that he accepted an Atlanta-based teaching position at the police academy — a move that would enable him to spend more time with his family, namely his girlfriend Tasha Fox (Obilom) and their newborn son.

While “Don’t Blink” will forever be known as Hawkins’ final Chicago P.D. episode, it’s also the fourth and last for Obilom, whose character will follow Atwater to Atlanta.

Shortly after they wrapped their final scene together, Hawkins paid tribute to his co-star in front of the entire crew. Keep reading for all the details.

The moment was captured by Obilom herself, who later shared the footage in an October 14 Instagram post. She had her phone in selfie mode while sitting next to Hawkins, and seemed genuinely surprised by what happened next:

“Hold on, I wanna say something real quick about Tasha Fox and then we gonna get up outta here,” Hawkins said before joking, “Let the record show we’ve done our best with as many love interests as we could.”

After that moment of brevity, Hawkins then spoke from the heart.

“But Karen Obilom, in my humble opinion, not only is she my favorite leading lady, but she made me the leading man that I aspire to be,” he announced. “So I just want to publicly say thank you. For being so beautiful and so perfect.”

Obilom was almost speechless as Hawkins gave her a big hug, with the star managing only a quiet, “Thank you”, to her on-screen flame.

Everyone on set gave her a round of applause, but Obilom didn’t want to share the moment without her co-star.

“And clap it up for LaRoyce Hawkins, yeah!” Obilom shouted.

In her Instagram caption, Obilom wrote about the impact Hawkins had on Chicago P.D. all these years.

“You learned from, taught, loved everyone on that set with a fierce passion. I’ve never seen anything like it,” her caption read. “And I want you to give yourself grace as you navigate a new reality. A new chapter. You deserve every beautiful thing that solidifies in front of your eyes.”

Obilom capped her message by telling him, “I am beyond proud of you and beyond honored to know you. Thank you for treating me like an absolute Queen through the whole thing. I am forever your family. And you are mine.”
